Key Features
  • Triangular Truss Shrouds
  • Looking Down to See Up
  • Binocular Viewing
  • Six Adjusting Motors
The RBX-12 Reverse Binocular Telescope from JMI allows the user to look down, towards the ground, into the binocular eyepieces to view the sky in back of and above the viewer's shoulders. The RBX is designed to be more aesthetically pleasing and lighter with triangular truss shrouds instead of rods. The inter-ocular spacing does not change with the focus change. There is less plastic and it disassembles easier. It is built with two aligned Newtonian optical tubes on an altitude-azimuth mount. This design creates a very compact and comfortable viewing experience whether sitting or standing. This 12" aperture reverse binocular come with an Altitude-Azimuth mount on a pier.

Binocular telescopes offer enhanced clarity, improved contrast, superior resolution and elimination of eye fatigue. There can be as much as a 40% improvement in resolution of lower contrast visual targets when the viewing is binocular as compared to monocular. The experience of viewing the night sky celestial objects is totally unique when looking down instead of up in this innovative, reverse binocular.

There are no bulky, complicated or expensive mounts; look down into the binocular to see the sky behind you. There are six motors for adjusting the inter-ocular (eye) spacing, focusing and optical tube alignment with the touch of a button. Specially modified reverse Crayford focusers are provided. The altitude and azimuth axis operates with exceptional smoothness. Optical encoders can be installed for use with a guiding computer to easily find objects. It is compatible with JMI's "go to" MAX computers.
