Chief WMA-1 Overview

The Chief Wall Mount Arm Accessory is a wall mounting solution for projectors and flat panel ceiling mounts that weigh up to 150 lb (68.04 kg) (concrete) and 50 lb (22.68 kg) (steel stud). The Wall Mount Arm Accessory sports a silver finish and extends from 11.5 – 19” (29.21 – 48.26 cm).

An integrated cable management system ensures that cables are concealed and protected. In addition to offering micro-level adjustment features, the Wall Mount Arm Accessory is compatible with CMS extension columns up to 4' (1.2 m). A quick-connect system ensures that installation is fast and simple, and the unit comes with the hardware required for wood stud, steel stud, and concrete wall construction.

Great mount when ceiling install is not an option

Due to having radiant heat wires embedded in my ceiling drywall in our new place, I was not able to use the Chief ceiling mount I was previously using for the Epson 5050UB. I thought I was out of options until...enter the WMA1S. Went to Chief's website and found this! Like mentioned in a previous review, once you find a wall stud the install is pretty straight forward. It's a bit bulkier and does stand out a bit more than a clean looking ceiling mount, but I thought I was not going to be able to use a projector at all until discovering this. A worthy compromise. I had a 6 steel tube column that came with my previous mount but to the lower placement of installing on a wall I purchased a 3 column so it doesn't hang so low.

I installed this into a wooden stud with 3 long provided screws. Everything about this is awesome. Make sure you leave enough space from the ceiling so that the arm can be held straight up and then notched 90 degrees down into its parallel to the floor resting position. Once you find the stud, the rest of the installation is breeze. Everything is solid and well engineered. You can adjust the arm length even after the projector is mounted.
