The black 8x42 Outland X Binocular from Celestron features multicoated optics, BAK4 Roof Prisms, a wide angle of view, and weather-proof construction with rubber armoring. While the multicoated lenses increase transmission and image brightness, the Roof Prisms made of BAK4 optical glass preserve true colors. The wide 6.8° angular field of view allows you to see a linear field of 356' at a distance of 1000 yards, and the center focus with a diopter allow seeing crisp details as close as 14.8'. The binocular also has a 56-74 mm interpupillary adjustment range, a 5.3 mm exit pupil and 18 mm eye relief.

In addition to optical performance features, the Outlander X presents a number of convenience and construction highlights. The binocular housing is nitrogen-purged water and fogproof, with a smooth black rubberized armoring to ensure a non-slip grip. For easy focusing, there is a large knurled center focus knob and a ribbed diopter ring on the right eyepiece. To accommodate anyone with glasses, the eyepieces have twist-up eyecups. If you want to attach the binocular to a tripod, use the threaded hole under the front center cup with an optional adapter.

Also included with the binocular are a soft neoprene carry pouch, a strap, and protective objective lens cups.

8x42 Outland X Binocular (Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing for the price We lecture on cruise ships -my subject is astronomy. For night sky sessions I wanted a smaller lightweight inexpensive pair with reasonable lightgrasp to check the sky. The price was a little less than a X Cel LX eyepiece! Lightweight, great resolution and contrast, good colour in the stars, good field width 6.8deg. Great value, compact and very useful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice spare I wanted an economical pair of binoculars to leave in my car as I already own a pair of Celestron 8X42 binoculars that I use for birding. I am pleased with this pair and also plan to purchase another pair for my grandson. I also have a Celestron scope, so I knew I was getting a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! This is a very good binocular for the money. The image is sharp and bright with good field of vision. Feels good in your hand and does not feel heavy on the neck. While there are binoculars with betters specs out there, these are excellent value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a DEAL! This bino combines a great style with a great viewing experience for a very low price. This is the second one I bought, and I am pretty happy again. I've tried a few different ones, but the optical quality, clarity, and a wide viewing angle in this are fantastic! I honestly don't know how Celestron has managed to do this. are these binos subsidized? Anyhow, this product features the optical quality with water/fogproofing WAAAAAY beyonds its class. One word of caution, though - don't drop them on concrete. even though it has rubber armoring, the optical alignment may be disrupted if you drop them on a Hard surface from above 3', and you may end up sending them for warranty repair. Luckily, Celestron will fix that issue for 15 bucks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use for astronomy while traveling I was looking for a small sized binoculars for astronomy that I can use for travel and is not insanely expensive. I have tried the 10x50 which are hard to hold steady and much bigger. They are better at astronomy too if you can hold them steady and are ok with weight and size for travel. In my case, needed something smaller so even though roof prisms are not recommended at this price point for astronomy I ended up buying this. I have not been disappointed. I do see flares sometimes but for all other observation this is perfect. I have observed Jupiter and its moons, saturn without its rings visible, Andromeda galaxy as a smudge, star clusters like coma cluster, lagoon nebula, and many more in Sagittarius, stars like Vega, Polaris, double double stars and a lot of messier objects Mxxx. It is not as sharp as a Pentax, but does the job enough for a travel bin at its size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Celestron 8x42 Outland is a great product. I use it for hunting and checking my cattle. The optics are sharp and clear, and it feels good in the hands. Also importantly, it adjusts easily. B and H staff were helpful and courteous, and shipping was prompt. I don't have a single reservation about this product--glad I purchased it.
