Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Turning telephoto lens into tracking telescope Great product. It allows me to attach my canon 500mm lens with Arca Swiss clamp attached to the plate to my celestron CGEM mount and shoot long exposures. Lots of holes threaded and unthreaded to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Fit & Finish This is the Celestron Universal Mounting Plate. Fit and Finish on par with ADM and others costing more. There plenty of mounting bores and most are recessed/countersunk to accommodate the bolt head. There are only two pre-threaded bores, centered, one at each end, which appear to be 1/4x20. The slots are handy and also countersunk. This is a solid piece of black anodized aluminum. I'm glad I bought it and saved some money over ADM, etc. Works perfectly under my primary OTA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The correct mounting plate for celestron mounts Althought the celestron CGEM mount appers to have a losmandy saddle, it actually is not, if you use an estndar losmandy mounting plate the telescope will end about 1/4 inch away from the center. TheCelestron Universal Mounting Plate is a Little taller, so it sits properlly on the mount saddle and ends centered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of holes for various ring spacing I have several mount plates. This one has lots of holes both threaded and counter sunk that make it easy to connect to rings. I like the long plates for stability and they allow the scope to be moved forward and back on the mount without having to re position the telescope tube for balance. Randall
