Just because it's from Celestron doesn't mean it fits on Celestron scope shoes. Now it's just a paper weight.

Althought the celestron CGEM mount appers to have a losmandy saddle, it actually is not, if you use an est�ndar losmandy mounting plate the telescope will end about 1/4 inch away from the center. The�Celestron Universal Mounting Plate is a Little taller, so it sits properlly on the mount saddle and ends centered.

Want to attach an iOptron 8" SCT OTA to a Celstron Advanced VX mount. I
iOptron has a Losmandy plate. Will this adapter plate allow me to put OTA on Celestron mount?
No, the Universal Mounting Plate is a D-series (Losmandy standard) compatible male dovetail plate and is not compatible with the Advanced VX mount.
