The JVC RV-NB70B "Kaboom" Portable Boom Box (Black) is a high-powered blast from the past, complete with modern features including Bass Enhance and iPod/iPhone dock. It also boasts 40W of total output power, which will have you rocking and bumping up and down your block. Designed for portability, the system even has a modern and tough urban-landscape aesthetic that evokes a rough/cool sensation associated with a bustling metropolis. Plus, it has forty brain-thumping watts.
The speaker system that generates all that power is JVC's twin full-range, sealed drivers and twin Super Woofer subwoofers with Bass Enhancement Function. They're powered by a quad-amp, 4-mode configuration that delivers 15W of stereo output to the Super Woofers and 5W of stereo output to the full-range drivers - yielding 40W total output. Plus, you can listen to your jams at home, or wake up the neighborhood by taking the battery-operated portable boom box down the street or to the park.
Besides the iPod/iPhone dock, the "Kaboom" is outfitted with an FM Tuner, single-CD player, high-speed USB 2.0 host port, and an auxiliary line-in jack for connecting alternate audio sources like MP3 players and laptops. The USB 2.0 host interface if front-facing for quick access and supports playback of MP3 and WMA file types. The CD player supports CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and WMA file playback, as well as repeat and random playback. The iPod/iPhone dock supports devices 4G or later and also has a composite video output jack for viewing your iPod/iPhone video content on a large screen. The "Kaboom" is even accoutered for karaoke battle. The integrated Karaoke Function uses the system's microphone/guitar input and level control to connect the karaoke mic; how loud it gets is up to you. With so many playback and connection options, the "Kaboom" Portable Boom Box can keep the whole family (or neighborhood) entertained.
