The Teradek CTD-10 Citadel Video Codec is a HD/4SD H.264 encoder and decoder that can encode/decode video signals at a resolution of up to 1920x1080. It accepts input signal formats such as 1080p60 HDMI, 3 wire component RGB, and 5-wire component RGB+HV signals, and also supports up to 4 channels of composite SD video. In addition, the encoder/decoder also decodes 1080p or up to 4 channels of SD H.264 or MPEG2 video.
Equipped with H.264 Level 4.1 compression, the CTD-10 Citadel offers high picture quality with 2:1 reduction in bit rates. Offering Blu-ray quality 1080p HD video over IP, the codec unit provides low latency and efficient network bandwidth usage. Enabling the broadcasters to use full D1 or HD instead of half D1, the video codec offers high quality display properties without exceeding the bandwidth allocation.
The CTD-10 Citadel can also output MPEG-TS over DVB-ASI for maximum compatibility with existing professional broadcasting equipment. Featuring HDMI/DVI output, the unit allows 1080p local monitoring, and composite video output provides legacy system support. Built-in scaler and compositing engine allow any output resolution video signal to be displayed on any output.
With Gigabit Ethernet / USB 2.0 and an advanced web server, the CTD-10 Citadel automatically pairs with other Teradek devices offering easy installation. Simple WebUI enables the user to easily configure the unit, name video streams, and watch live/recorded video.
The CTD-10 Citadel Video Codec features an embedded operating system and a milled aircraft grade 6061-T6 enclosure housing. It has low power consumption (7.5W) and can be powered using a DC power source or PoE (Power over Ethernet). In addition, the video codec can be used in applications such as mobile news, sports, religious broadcasting, and digital signage systems.
