Key Features
  • Helps to Eliminate Reflections and Glare
  • Reduces Haze and Blue Cast in Landscapes
  • Greater Color and Tonal Saturation
  • T* Anti-Reflective Coating
The 82mm Carl ZEISS T* Circular Polarizer Filter from ZEISS helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. A polarizer is able to absorb much of this polarized light and, in turn, increase the saturation of skies and foliage, cut through distant haze, and minimize reflections in glass and on water.

ZEISS T* Circular Polarizer Overview

The 82mm Carl ZEISS T* Circular Polarizer Filter from ZEISS helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. A polarizer is able to absorb much of this polarized light and, in turn, increase the saturation of skies and foliage, cut through distant haze, and minimize reflections in glass and on water.

A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it integrates a quarter wave plane within a linear polarizing filter. The addition of this helps to circularly polarize reflected light, which enables your camera's autofocus and auto-exposure mechanisms to function properly.

The T* anti-reflective coating helps to reduce reflections on the filter's surface and promote a better light transmission for high quality imagery. The filter ring is designed with a slim profile to allow its use on wide angle lenses, but front filter threads are still available for the use of additional filters.

Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.
Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.
Strongest effect when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
Circular polarizers are ideal for use with digital cameras and autofocus lenses where a linear polarizer will often disrupt auto exposure and focus features.
T* anti-reflective helps to reduce surface reflections in order to produce greater light transmission for a higher quality image.

I often put a clear filter on over these polarizers. Why? If you get the T* coating dirty or smudged, it can be hard to undo. But yes, these filters will help bring out the very best in your lens.

Would this work with the Nikon Z 14-30 mm at 14 mm without vignetting?
Asked by: Barbara
I'm sorry for the worthlessly late reply. I don't know. I do know that my Heliopan "slim" filter for my Zeiss 15mm on my Nikon D800 has no vignetting.

Will this filter work with my Canon 16-35 f2.8L Mark 4 lens ?
Asked by: Jerzy
You wrote mark 4 but there was only the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L original and II and III versions. The III has an 82mm thread and will work with this Zeiss filer. All but the original version of this lens will work with this filter.

Will the stock Canon RF lens caps work for this, or can you recommend one that is sure to work?
Asked by: Paul
A corresponding size lens cap with a center-pinch, Snap-On style will work with the lens filter over the lens.

question

Zeiss or Hoya HD3 CP? They are about equal in price, but which is the better filter for Sony f/2.8 24-70?
Asked by: OneForkShort
A lens filter is made of the glass, the filter material, the ring and the coatings. The quality of each determines the quality of the filter. Both of these filters, ZEISS 82mm Carl ZEISS T* Circular Polarizer Filter B&H # ZEPOLF82 and the Hoya 82mm HD3 Circular Polarizer Filter B&H # HOCPHD382 are the best the manufacturers can make and they are of the best you can get for your lens and camera. Saying which is best is like which is better, a BMW or a Lexus? You will not go wrong with either of these beautifully made, thin profiled (no vignetting) optically perfect Polarizers. The only difference is the Zeiss does the normal 1.5 stop loss for a Pola whereas the Hoya claims only a 1.25 stop loss. For the vast majority of shooting situations with a Pola, I think that negligible but in certain situations it could be a valuable asset. You might be the type who likes to standardize on filter brands in which case since Hoya makes only filters, they do have a larger variety. Then again, maybe you only want one or two filters. Have fun.

As the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens has 82mm front filter threads, yes, the ZEISS 82mm Carl ZEISS T* Circular Polarizer Filter would be compatible for use on the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens.

What material is the ring made of? Brass, Aluminum, or other?
Asked by: Michael
I have been a extremely serious photographer for 45 years and have ZEISS filters for all of my lenses! The quality and workmanship is superb and took a magnet to the metal with no attraction but had attraction to certain metal parts on my canon 5Dsr and 5D Mark IV so my guess it’s high grade aluminum not brass because of weight! Highly recommend ZEISS!
