The Cyclops DSLR Viewfinder from Cinevate Inc. is a framing / focusing tool for a DSLR camera. Its sled is designed to allow for nearly limitless rigging options. The viewfinder can be adjusted to accommodate larger cameras and the front and rear hood elements can be interchanged to allow for the trend of larger LCD sizes. Additionally, a special riser is included, enabling you to adjust the Cyclops to optimum height for use with lower LCD screens. The optic / lens itself can be switched from the back of your camera to the front, allowing for versatility in detail and image sharpness, depending upon your subject and your needs.

This viewfinder allows you to view your subject with great focus, even from 3 feet away from the camera! What's more is that with this tool, director and shooter can view images at the same time. The viewfinder does not attach in any way to your LCD; there's no touch fastener, sticky tape or elastic involved.

Precision molded fiber-reinforced composite gives the viewfinder's sled a solid foundation for virtually endless rigging options
Large 72mm optic / lens is made from exotic glass elements that are optically bonded, then fully coated for maximum brightness
Fully adjustable (3 axis) to accommodate even larger cameras, such as Nikon D3s and Canon 1D MkIV
Allows you to achieve critical focus from as far away as 3.0' (0.9 m) from the camera!
You can use both eyes to frame/focus and you won't have to remove eye-glasses
Allows director and shooter to view images at the same time
Optic can be quickly removed and attached to the front of your camera via 72mm threads, creating a +5 power macro with resolution to match even full size HDSLR sensors
Special included riser adjusts Cyclops to optimum height for use with lower LCD screens, such as those on the Canon 7D and T2i
Sled option not recommended on cameras with flip-out LCD screens, like the 60D or GH1
Does not attach to your LCD - no touch fastener, sticky tape or elastics!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Secret Weapon I am a videographer so I decided to give the Cyclops a try doing a video wedding this past weekend. I absolutely love it. The magnification allows me to see my subjects crystal clear. The best part is I don't have to place my eye tightly close to this particular viewfinder. I can now view my shots using both eyes and still able to use my peripheral vision to see what's going on in the surrounding areas as well. All in all, the cyclops is an awesome piece of equipment. It is my new secret weapon which will give me an advantage edge over the other videographers. The only complaint I have about it is that it is a bit overpriced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spe arvelous!!!!!!! One word *Spe arvelous* i.e. Spectacularly Marvelous. Now I can record accurately focused video- portable or rigged for hours with absolutely no eye fatigue. The lens is big- bright, neutral and clean, which has allowed me to consistently obtain laser accurate images and video. P.S. I did one day shipping and my package arrived at the exact time i was quoted by BH, which was phenomenal. Phenomenal product, Phenomenal service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Viewfinder on the planet I used the cyclops for a video I just directed and it worked beautifully. I loved that I didn't need to put my eyes right up to the viewfinder in order to see the picture, I still had great vision even from a distance. That proved to be a lifesaver since the shoulder rig I was using had short rails and would've been pressed against my chin with any other viewfinder. Also, we had a camera spill on set and the viewfinder took the brunt of the impact. Not only did it keep performing but there wasn't even a scratch on it! Now that's durability.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for people with vision problems While the magnification and brightness of the LCD screen is really amazing using the cyclops, there are several drawbacks as noted by other reviewers. The main drawback is that it does not fit on a D800 camera. It is necessary to adapt it by either cutting down one of the screws that come with the viewfinder or purchasing the appropriate length screw to hold the cyclops to the camera. It is also necessary to use a spacer so that the viewfinder matches up with the LCD screen and if you don't want to lose the rubber gasket, the company representative advised using a little glue to keep it in place. Since I am an older avid amateur photographer I think the cyclops will be extremely useful for manual focus and for making DSLR videos. It should be very helpful for anyone with vision problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cyclops Viewfinder I wear glasses therefore the choice of the Cyclops is obvious. The purchase is due to my desire to enter the field of the DSLR video. Cinevate has very good business strategy allowing to gradually build a system of photo/video gear without making the previous purchases redundant. This is a very good selling point which along with good quality will attract the increasing number of customers. Thank you, Cinevate and B&H for this exciting opportunity

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Resolving DSLR Eye Lens Coordination Cinevate's DSLR Viewfinder is extremely easy to attach to my Nikon D7000 DSLR. One simple Robertson driver is all that is needed. Just mount the camera body on to the cyclops and tighten the Robertson screw in to the tripod mount slot. The dismount is just easy! I have no more concerns about the balance of both eyes when focusing and the focus is extraordinarily pristine. Nor do I experience one exhausted eye after more than an hour of viewing my project through a single eye viewfinder or worse attempting to properly focus through the LCD. Cinevate's DSLR Viewfinder blew me away when I saw it demonstrated on my own DSLR. What's also great is that I can step back a bit and view what going on through the lens without placing my face into the viewfinder. Its clear, sharp and shows the subject bigger than life. The fact that you've invested in a macro lens as well is a huge plus. My best investment this year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cyclops This is a great purchase to make sure that your video is fully focused and to film in hares sunlight. It is hard to see the little LCD screen in the sun without the cyclops. I also love that it does not require batteries. The magnification is great. I would recommend this product. It's very easy to mount and use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from En espaol.
