Replacement Metal Hot Shoe for Vivitar Flash is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well It's pretty straightforward. The metal feels very substantial and should hold up to moderately heavy use. Unit did not ship with instructions, so pay attention to your wires (black to the outside terminal, green to the center, solder red and white together). Overall, seems to work quite well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great but works for my needs The alignment of the shoe was off by 8 to 10 degrees so once it was attached to the flash and the screws aligned it had a decidedly right side aim instead of being 90 degrees off the plane of the camera it was more like 84 to 80 . I filed the metal plate to straighten it out and to make it work .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from know the wiring of this shoe the wiring has to be right...and if you want to put this shoe on a safe sync shoe it will short it out because its metal...its a real metal shoe and probably wont break...but it dawned on me i dropped my camera and the plastic hot shoe on 285 broke not the camera...if metal.. my camera would have broke...but a decent product if you wire it right and need it to be metal and stronger than the plastic one...
