question

which wire would I use to fire my off camera receiver?
Asked by: Anonymous
The type of cord that you need would be partly determined by the slave unit you are using. This particular shoe will use a male PC socket on one side of said cord. Something like this is fairly common for many slave units:Impact Sync Cord Male Mini to Male PC (12 )B&H # IMMMPCM1 ? Mfr # 9031420

question

Will this work as a replacement shoe for the Vivitar 272 (yes, 272) flash? This old thing STILL WORKS!!
Asked by: John
I don't know about the 272. I know it'll work with a 283/285. That being said, I still haven't installed mine because it does not come with screws. The old screws are too short and they're the kind of thing that's hard to find at Home Depot. I guess the real determining factor for you is the actual dimensions of the mounting platform and screw placement. The wiring is a simple solder job with 2 wires. Good luck!
