Magma P13RR-RAS Overview

The Magma 13 Slot PCI Expansion System with Standard PCI Host Card is used to extend the PCI express bus of the host PC or server via integration of additional 13 universal or legacy 5 volt only full length PCI Express I/O cards. Offering plug-n-play operation, the 13 Slot PCI Expansion System with standard PCI host card is a rugged COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) expansion system designed specifically for industrial telephony and military-grade configurations.

Featuring a hot-swappable 550W dual redundant power supply, the 13 Slot PCI Expansion system provides uninterrupted power supply. The expansion system maintains system temperature using fans that can be field swapped in case of fan malfunction. It includes a 3.28’ (1 m) iPass cable for a transparent connection with the host.

Supporting SNMP v2 protocols, the expansion system enables near real-time monitoring of operation via an SNMP agent across multiple platforms like DOS, Linux, UNIX, etc. In addition, it enables monitoring using industry standard management information bases (MIBs). With both DHCP and static IP setups, the expansion system uses an Ethernet based system, which allows for remote access via a built-in standard web browser.

The expansion system constantly monitors the critical components of the device and also prompts appropriate counter measures when faults occur. A flexible SNMP trap management allows indication of chassis failure that occurs due to events such as over temperature, fan failure, or power supply failure via an audible alert and with Surveillance Pro 2 provides failure alert via e-mail or web browser.

Using EMI control, vibration, shock, and moisture resistance, the 13 Slot PCI Expansion System with Standard PCI host card is protected from external factors. It includes PCI card hold down bar, which prevents the cards from being dislodged during transportation. The system can be racked in a cabinet using an optional chassis trak rack slide kit.
