I had 7 of these Between home and work (I'm old w/eyes going bad). The light feature on every one stopped working between 4 months and 2 years. No way to fix them. With the light they're nifty. Without the light eh/so-so. By the way I had both the 3 power and the 5 power they are exactly the same. No difference in magnification??

Can the LED light be switched OFF with the magnifier in the extended position, or is it automatic ON/OFF with extension/retraction only?
