Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great TSA Lock Very happy with lock

Rated 4 out of 5 by from its only a temporary security, for airport When I started looking into security for my rolling 3I-2011-7B-D case I tried regular TSA short cable locks. They do not keep the case closed. It can open about 5mm so things can fall out or it can be pried open. So I thought that this locking latch would be more secure. It is, but not by much. If someone really wants in they can probably pry this open too. When the latch is turned it has only one latch lip that prevents it from opening I would hope that there is a double lip latch that could be made for a little more security. It feels like it could pop open if that one latch gave way. You can see in the pic that they could have engineered it with double latch. I hoped it had it. Also the key is the same key as my other SKB case. So if someone wanted they could probably just use another simple SKB key to open your case. Or the pin that holds the latch in place is exposed and can be knocked out simply with the use of a sturdy nail. If you want real security you will have to use the holes and get a lock that fits. Installation was easy. Like I said a simple nail and hammer nocks the locking pin out and frees the latch. Open sesame. In the end I am happy I have these latches. They are about the same cost as loose locks, are more streamline. Most of my security issues are temporary and keep the passer by out of the case. Knock on wood, nothing has been stolen. I've just heard horror stories.
