Axis Communications P7701 Video Decoder (Barebone, 20-Pack)
Key Features
  • H.264 / Motion JPEG / MPEG-4
  • AAC / G.726 / G-711 Formats
  • Resolution up to 1280 x 720 (D1)
  • Supports VGA or HDMI Monitors
The Axis P7701 Video Decoder (Barebone, 20-Pack) allows you to decode digital or analog video streams at full frame rates in H.264, Motion JPEG, and MPEG-4 formats and analog audio in AAC, G.726, and G-711 formats at resolutions up to 720 x 576 (D1). It also decodes mono audio and provides a simple monitoring solution by displaying live video streams received from Axis network cameras or video encoders on analog or digital monitors or projectors.

With DVI input and by connecting VGA or HDMI monitors to the appropriate adaptors, the Axis P7701 Video Decoder can digitally output high-quality video at resolutions up to 1280 x 720. Composite video can be output via an RCA connector on LCD screens or analog monitors. By helping offload the main server from decoding digital streams for display purposes, the P7701 Video Decoder can complement a video management system. For applications that require live video display, you can directly connect the P7701 Decoder to the monitor instead of using a PC.

The Axis P7701 Video Decoder allows serial commands to be sent to legacy equipment used in a surveillance system using the RS-422/RS-485 serial port. It supports Password Protection and allows only those operators to access the decoder via a user name and passwordupports Password Protection and allows only those operators to access the decoder via a user name and password.   . The IP Address Filtering restricts system-access and system-control to selected users and Power over Ethernet IEEE 802.3af Class 3 supplies power to the decoder from the network itself without any extra wiring for auxiliary power outlets.

VAPIX from Axis Communications, an open API (Application Programming Interface), includes VAPIX alarm that allows the Axis P7701 Video Decoder to automatically display video-triggered audio when an alarm is triggered in a network camera or video encoder. In addition to offering HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol over SSL) encrypted video streams, the P7701 Video Decoder supports IPv6 and IPv4 standards, thereby protecting data transmission across the network.
