Vello HSA-PSU Overview

Vello's Universal Hot Shoe Adapter - PC Connection + Top Shoe allows you to add a PC connection to any camera that does not come with a built-in PC sync connection (excluding Sony cameras with Multi Interface Shoe, or older cameras with Sony/Minolta type shoe), while still retaining the existing hot shoe functionality.

This adapter fits into any standard hot shoe and adds a PC sync connection to your camera, allowing you to connect to a studio flash using the PC connection. In addition, the adapter also features a hot shoe on top (non-TTL), which allows you to keep a flash mounted on the camera (or any other shoe accessory) while simultaneously connecting the camera to a studio light via a PC sync cord. Or, use it to provide a PC connection to a flash that doesn't have a built-in one, when positioned off-camera.

Note:
This adapter does not support TTL flash operation.
Note! This adapter does not provide high-voltage sync protection, and is not recommended for use with flash units that have a trigger voltage of more than 6V.

Will this adapter give third party flash ...

Will this adapter give third party flash capabilities to the Canon Sl3?
Asked by: Rob
It would let you fire 3rd party flashes on the SL3 more than likely, but will probably not give them TTL capabilities unless the flash is build for canon flash mount.

I’m looking to connect my Metz 45 CT-4 to my Fuji ...

I’m looking to connect my Metz 45 CT-4 to my Fuji X100S, just to use as a digital Polaroid before using the Metz on my Mamiya RZ67. The Fuji doesn’t have a PC connection, but does have a hot shoe - will this work for this purpose? Cheers
Asked by: Jean
I should fire the flash just fine, but check the flash sync voltage of the Metz. If it's an older flash, the sync voltage may be too high and could toast the sync in your Fuji. A lot of photographers had similar problems when they mounted their trusty Vivitar 283 units on.their new dslrs.

question

hellois this compatible with Fuji x100s ?, i would like to attach it to a male to male PC sync cord to use it with my Nikon flash , do u think this compo will work ( Fuji s100x+ vello adapter + sync cord + sb900)in a manual way?
Asked by: Anonymous
This adapter is not compatible with the current Fuji TTL system, but would allow a flash to be mounted on the top of the shoe and be fired in manual mode only. It would also be able to work with your Nikon SB900 connected via PC-Sync cable in manual exposure mode yes.

Have B&H photograph the bottom of adapter to show the contact points. Then the asking customer can compare visually to the contact points on their camera.

question

I would like to use Wein Safe-Sync SSHSHS on Sony A7r to attach a PC sync cable from Bowens Illumitran (small but perhaps high voltage flash). Is this Vello adapter needed to make the Wein Safe Sync compatible with A7r shoe? Thanks!
Asked by: DONALD JEREMY O.
No, that will not work. The Sony A7r has the new Sony multi-interface hotshoe and it does not work properly with devices that have a standard mount like the adapter. And there is no adapter made at this time that is Sony Multi-interface to standard hotshoe.

question

I have purchased this hot shoe adapter and the Profoto 103011 Male to pc sync cable for use with the Sony HVL-F60M. The transmitters are the Profoto Air Sync and Remote. I have tried both Profoto transmitters to set off the Sony flash but am not having any luck. Am I using the wrong settings?Viewing the hot shoe and where the flash center pin would land, it does not seem to make contact due to the Multi Interface pins and the hot shoe adapter not allowing the flash to slide further in.
Asked by: Anonymous
The Sony HVL-F60M is not compatible with the Pro Foto Air Sync and Remote system. The only way to trigger this flash remotely is with use of an additional Sony unit mounted onto the camera as a commander.
