The pair of white Electro-Voice S-40 passive installation loudspeakers are made for background and foreground music reproduction in indoor or outdoor environments such as clubs, restaurants, and even recording/broadcast studios. Their low-flux-leakage design allows them to be placed near video monitors while their compact form factor makes the most of limited available space.
Equipped with a 5.25" direct-radiating woofer and a 1" soft-dome tweeter, the S-40 is capable of handling 120W, yielding a maximum SPL of 113 dB, and producing an 85 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The 100° horizontal by 100° vertical coverage pattern ensures audibility for patrons and audiences.
Built-in automatic power limiting protects the drivers from extreme transients, reducing the possibility of driver failure. The vented trapezoidal enclosure—constructed from durable and lightweight high-impact polystyrene—is outfitted with a set of 1/4"-20 threaded inserts for use with optional mounting systems.
