Grass Valley ADVC G3 Dual SDI to HDMI Converter / Multiplexer with 3D Support

The Grass Valley ADVC G3 Dual SDI to HDMI Converter / Multiplexer with 3D Support is a compact, 1/3 RU box that performs an extremely valuable function for any facility that works with stereoscopic 3D content: multiplexing in three different flavors.

Via the device's two 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs, the ADVC G3 accepts the left-eye and right-eye video signals that make up a stereoscopic image. For output via HDMI 1.4, it multiplexes the two signals in selectable side-by-side, top & bottom, and sequential frame-packing patterns. This allows content to be viewed correctly on 3DTV screens.

The ADVC G3 also performs audio de-embedding via its AES-EBU stereo output and dual analog audio outputs – a useful function for any monitoring environment, 3D or not. If used in 2D mode, the second BNC input can be used as a backup input for SDI.
