Comtek PR-75A Overview

The Comtek PR-75a is a user-friendly and reliable wireless monitor receiver that provides clear monitoring for personal communication and assistive-listening applications. It is compatible with M-175, BST-75, and BST-50b transmitters. This model is equipped with a standard EQ designed to enhance speech intelligibility, ideal for wireless tour guide, auditory assistance, personal FM, discreet cueing, language interpretation, and more.

Easy to use, the PR-75a automatically turn itself on and initiates its AutoSmart-Tuning (AST) process when the headset is plugged in. The receiver selects the closest appropriate transmitter in its vicinity and then sets itself to this channel.

If other transmissions need to be monitored, a convenient, one-button AutoSmart-Tuning control allows the receiver to re-tune to a different, compatible transmitter at venues where multiple transmitters are in use. This makes it easy for the listener to use the same receiver when attending multiple programs in houses of worship, school classes, tour guide presentations, and for personal auditory assistance.

Additionally, the PR-75a can be programmed for a set frequency or for a preset group of frequencies that can be accessed in sequence using the one-button tuning control (Program B).

The rugged and durable PR-75a features a 3.5mm jack that accepts mono and stereo headsets, hearing aids, and neckloops. An easy-to-reach volume knob enables you to quickly adjust the level of your headset. The receiver operates up to 100 hours on two AA alkaline batteries. It conveniently attaches to your belt or clothing using the included snap-on belt clip or P-11 protective pouch.

Works great. The only comment is it has to have an adapter to feed a stereo hearing system for my hearing aids.

what is the difference between extended low end and standard EQ?
Asked by: Elwood
The Comtek PR-75P AutoSmart-Tuning Wireless Monitor Receiver with Extended Low End boosts the low-end frequency response of the device and is more ideal for film and TV applications where more precise monitoring is required. The "standard EQ" version of the Comtek PR-75a AutoSmart-Tuning Wireless Monitor Receiver enhances speech intelligibility and is designed for tour guide and assisted listening applications.

question

Will this work with TV? Will it work with the plugged-in microphone at church? (It works fine with the microphone in the Chapel.)
Asked by: June N.
The Comtek PR-75a AutoSmart-Tuning receiver is designed to integrate with non-compand transmitters tuned to 72-76 MHz. Both a TV and an audio system in a church would need to have a transmitter like the M-175 or BST-75 in order for the PR-75a receiver to work.

Does this receiver work with the older Comtek BST-25 transmitters?
Asked by: Robert
No it is not compatible. The PR-216 is the compatible receiver for the BST-25 The PR-216 and the BST-25 are available in two frequency bands, 76-88 MHz and 216-217 MHz. In order for the PR-216 to work with the BST-25, they both need to be on the same frequency. Here are the item numbers: #COPR216 (216-217 MHz) # COPR216TV56 (76-88 MHz)

question

How is it best to clean ear buds when there are multiple users? My church won't provide the ear pieces so I bring my own.
Asked by: June N.
You can clean your earbuds with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap, like a drop of dish soap. A toothbrush can be used to gently remove any wax that may be built up. There are also cleaning products available like HygenX by HamiltonBuhl (B&H # HAX19HRSB), which is specifically for cleaning headphone and earbuds.
