thank you for your question. As this unit operates in VHF you should be able to get 75-100FT of good communication without obstructions or interference.

Can I add additional earpieces/listeners?

Yes, it is possible to add additional Comtek PR-216 Beltpack IFB Receivers - 76 Channels between 216 to 217 MHz (B&H # COPR216) with earpieces to the Comtek RC-216 Receive-A-Cue System in order to accommodate more listeners.
