Drawmer Dynamics from Avid consists of two TDM plug-in processing tools based on Drawmer's hardware processors. Back in the days of tape and track bleed, the Drawmer DS201 Noise Gate was a staple in most high-end studios and used for percussive and highly transient material. In today's digital studio, the plug-ins are still very relevant.
A side-chain trigger in the noise gate can be set to trigger the gate from any audio track, providing limitless processing possibilities. Key filters "tune" the gate to the required frequency to assist triggering, while the fabled ultra-fast attack time adds punch. The source can be enhanced by a compressor and is further kept under precise control by a limiter. For non percussive sources, Program Adaptive Circuits can enhance the signal, adding life to dull tracks and controlling excessively dynamic ranges.
The expander/compressor/limiter plug-in is based on the Drawmer DL241 Auto Compressor and DL251 Limiter. Auto gain adjusts the gain of the compressor when the threshold or ratio controls are adjusted. Dynamic automation, total save and recall of all parameters and mapping to external control surfaces are additional features of the plug-ins.
