Sonic NoNOISE from Avid is a set of powerful tools for restoring audio recordings, based on the renowned Sonic Solutions software. Its advanced processes isolate and eliminate audio artifacts and remove unwanted noise without damaging the program material. The processes can be used to remove hiss, scratches, hum, and mechanical and impulsive noise, as well as to restore old recordings, remove noises from field recordings, and repair audio material that has suffered damage.
The suite features both TDM and AudioSuite plug-ins, with broadband noise reduction accomplished through a TDM plug-in for analysis, and an AudioSuite plug-in for noise removal. A variety of high-resolution filters, also implemented as TDM plug-ins include presence, notch, high- and low-shelf, high- and low-pass, DC-removal, emphasis, de-emphasis and more. AudioSuite plug-ins perform the manual declicking, production declicking, and decrackling.
The suite of tools offers both automatic and manual means of analysis and repair. The feature set makes it ideal not only in the mastering and re-mastering stages of audio production, but also for many other audio treatments needed to restore, clean, or enhance recorded material. Capabilities include frequency analysis, peak distortion removal, broadband denoising, click detection, production (automatic) declicking, manual declicking, and decrackling.
