Rycote Stickies Lavalier Adhesive Pads (100-Pack) are double-sided hypoallergenic adhesive pads used for mounting lavalier microphones to clothing or skin. I don’t know what happened to rycote stickies. I used to like them a lot, I switched to eastwind stickies last year, but they were out of stock and I bought these again. They used to be better, this ones fall apart, into two parts so easily, sometimes while I’m trying to pick one up from the sheet. I hope it’s just a bad batch, because doesn’t seem like eastwind is coming back, so I will order some more rycote. But yeah, here’s my experience with the last order
We use two of these per actor per show for mics that are hidden under clothing and not headworn due to other costume issues. (The actors wear a sheet over their head for a couple scenes so we tape an extra mic to their chests.) These are the only option which work for us. B&H is, of course, always easy to deal with and we never have any issues. The product works very well. We use 16/ week. We have tried other options that are not the true Rycote stickies and they are inferior. These are the only option for our production.
