    Core SWX PB70B reviews

PB70B PowerBase 70 Battery Pack is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great battery!! I got two of these to power my DSLR rig. Perfect compliment to a small setup. I attached the quickrelease plate to the 1/4 20 on the back of my rig and that left the vmount on the battery exposed on the other side. Now i can mount my audio recorder directly to the battery with a vmount quickrelease. Awesome!! Also works as a great counterbalance. Powers my 5D and Marshall monitor for 5 hours and swapping out batteries takes 5 seconds. I opted for the Zacuto LP-E6 Dtap cable because it was longer than the powerbase 70 cable and offered more setup flexibility. The charger for the battery is junk though; died the first day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I use two of these to power a Black Magic Cinema camera. Typically, I'm able to get about 4-4.5 hours of life out of a single battery. With two or three of these on a single camera you can pretty much go all day. The only downside I've found with these is the length of time you have to wait for it to fully charge. It seems to take anywhere from 5-6 hours. Of course if you leave it charging over night that's not a big deal and it's much better than using DSLR batteries or the internal on the BMCC. Plus, the v-mount attachment makes adding the battery to the BMCC a cinch over something like the Anton Bauer. Overall, this is the ideal pick.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the Job! A relatively inexpensive and effective Vmount battery.I like the P-tap option included on the battery body for powering other accessories. Though, p-tap port looks weak and. Not sure it will withstand a couple hundred inserts and removal. My Major gripe is the wonky 1/4-20 release plate. it's just not sturdy enough and you can tell it can only hold cams with small body. even the BMCC doesn't sit right/tight on it. Makes me contemplate getting rods and a vmount plate.Overall, solid buy but don't trust your cam to sit right or tight on it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best battery money can buy!... mostly I use this with my Canon T3i + a 7 LCD Monitor that has XLR power in, I purchased a second unit with the camera adapter at first for a week long shoot, but the p-tap on the unit busted just from inserting the Switronix charger, having that happen two days before shooting was a major pain so I overnighted this one. The legnth of life is unbeatable, I was shooting a feature legnth film over 16 hours a day and I never had to charge this battery! A+++++++++ there. Now to the annoying parts, it doesn't include the charger, and the p-tap is extremely easy to snap, be very very careful! All in all I'd buy a 3rd if I thought for some reason I would need that much power, this is by far the best battery purchase I have ever made!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product This little beast now runs everything on my DSLR rig. And with I was able to attach the plate via a free 1/4 20 so now the battery can be mounted via the quick release. Also, I can mount more devices via the free Vmount. Perfect addition to the rig. I will probably buy a few more of these. Currently have 2 and that will last a 10 hour day easily and my charger completely charges both batteries in 40 minutes. Life is good!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Versatile I use the pack with a v-mount to my BlackMagic Production Camera and it's a must have since the internal battery lasts maybe 20 minutes and I can get hours of shooting time with a couple of these on hand. What I like most is the ability to power any camera accessories at the same time (with the v-mount sold separately) and is large and heavy enough to help use as a counterweight when I am using the shoulder rig.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, but has failed 2x now Low weight for the output, easy to use. Powers a canon 5D MKII-III and dolly system. It's failed 2x on me in the past 6+ months, however, one time during a critical moment that cost me some great footage. Support is good about fixing it, but it's going to be tough for me to justify relying on this. Hopefully this is just a fluke, otherwise great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, this is the Switronix Powerbase 70. I had one of these batteries back when the company was still Switronix. I used it for my BMCC. The battery had lost it's charge capacity after much time and use, so I bought another. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE ADAPTER FOR YOUR CAMERA FOR THIS BATTERY, IT WILL WORK WITH THIS. NO NEED TO BUY THE ONE WITH THE ADAPTER AGAIN.
