Always playing around with new ways to mount little LEDs and the bottom threads are key for versatility.

Do they make these things with threads the whole way up? I just bought a revo skate dolly that has a very similar camera screw, but I can't put a fluid head on it because the whole thing just spins.
Asked by: Anonymous
I am sorry - I have not been able to locate a similar part with continuous threading all the way up to the knob.

question

I ordered this and it was not the Right screw for me what is the right one where I can slide it down a mounting bar after threading it in? Something longer.
Asked by: Antonio
A shoulder screw seems the appropriate fastener if I understand the situation. These have a threaded portion at the end of the shaft and an unthreaded portion beneath the head. The shoulder is formed at the border between the two portions, the unthreaded area being of greater diameter than the threaded. This shoulder allows the screw to be secured in the camera before it bottoms out in the hole. Please try a search for 'shoulder screws' to understand the variety of configurations or visit a good hardware store. The standard 1/4-20 threading applies.
