Pelican 1520-406-100 Overview

The Pelican 1525 Padded Divider Set is a 15 piece set made to organize small and large items. The dividers are made from ballistic nylon and are padded and flexible. They have Touch Fastener on the edges that are used to attach the dividers to the tray or other dividers. This case is a replacement for the Pelican 1524 series cases and an accessory for the Pelican 1520 series cases.

Terrible for DSLR with lens attached!

Looking at the photo online it looks as though you could place a DSLR with lens. Why not use a photo with the camera in the case so people can see how it works?? Because it doesn't work! Notice two dividers have a crease in them so they fold to create a pocket for the camera. When placing the dividers the space for the camera is so narrow that there is no way a Canon 5D will fit, nor a 20D, nor Nikon 850! (see my pic) Regardless I tried for over an hour to configure this case for securely holding a camera and lens. I don't know what Pelican is thinking!! The camera body would have to be 1 inch thick to fit in the space. So I tried to place the dividers vertical so they aren't so long and use a divider to anchor the other side. There is two strips of velcro in the bottom so it is not possible to run the dividers vertical for more camera body room. This insert set could have been great if they just put the folds in the right spot. I will remove this review if someone shows me how to fit a DSLR camera with lens.

Great fit for pelican 1500

Recently transitioned my old Pelican 1500 case from a pick/pluck foam to the 1525 insert. The 1525 is sturdier than I expected and since it's attached via velcro I can rearrange as my field kit grows and changes.

THE DIVIDER KIT ARRIVED AND I ATTEMPTED TO SET IT UP FOR ALL OF MY GEAR. I found that som of the long divider pieces were either too short or too long to fit in the case. After a little work I was able to make the divider kit fit. Not perfectly as shown in the instructions but good enough so that I would not have to return it.

i bought this set to fit in a nice find at my local salvation army, mint kenneth cole reaction wheel luggage. this set is padded just right with enough space to fit 2 600led panels at the top. the velcro is very sticky & keeps the heaviest items in check. the dividers are not very high & my d3s & d810 with grip poke over the top a bit, but that is where the eggshell sturdy foam convinces me that i am protected. i have managed to fit 2 pro bodies (one with 70-200 attached), 2 600 led panels, 4 speed lights, su-800, 5 assorted primes, & 1 fat macro lens. with still space to spare here & there for batteries, flash diffusers & the like. heavily recommended for anyone going the diy route for a pull behind luggage camera bag. make sure you measure - i thought i was going to run out of room for a very tight squeeze & it ended up being a perfect fit. thank you b&h!!

The divider and top pad fit perfectly into the 1520 case. I had to do some slight modifications to accommodate a Canon 7d with a BG-E7 battery grip. Gear is perfectly protected with this divider.

Does the height of this include the thickness of the convoluted foam lid or is it just the height of the divider? Thanks!

It is just the height of the divider. This is a kit for the Pelican 1520 Series Cases and fits perfectly. On other cases the fit is not guaranteed.
