Dot Line Tele-Wide Lens Hood Reviews

better than the Fuji original

As much as i love all my fuji XT equipment, most of their lens hoods have failed and had to be replaced. I like the feel of this one for my 90mm tele lens which kept falling off. So far, this lens hood has served me well.

Exceeded my expectations

Not an expensive item, but B&H kept me informed on backorder and shipping status. Once it arrived, it threaded exactly on the first try onto the polarizing filter and provides an easily way to rotate the filter. The hood accepted the lens cap with no problem. The hood extends and collapses as it should and fits into my tapered carrying case. I would have rated it 4 stars, but easing use of the polarizing filter is a bonus.

Is this hood good for taking photos through windows at an angle and blocks reflections?
Asked by: Michael
A lens hood can help reduce reflections when placing the lens against or near a window but the better option for shooting through a window would be a lens skirt such as this: https://bhpho.to/3ShEeau

Has anyone tested this with a full frame 24mm lens to see if it vignettes in the corners? Or specifically on the Nikon Z 24-70mm f4 S lens?
Asked by: Craig
I agree, it "shouldn't," but this easyCover Lens Rim (BH #EAECLR72), which is as low profile as seeminly possible, vignettes on the Nikon Z 24-70 f4 S lens. But it did not vignette on the Fujfilm 16-55 f2.8. Thanks very much!

question

(1) does the front of the hood have filter threads so I can attach filters without removing the hood?(2) if so, does the filter thread also have a 62mm size?
Asked by: Anonymous
This hood does not have front threads and attaching a filter to the end of a lens hood is generally not recommended as you run the risk of any blemishes on either side of the filter coming or approaching being in focus.

question

at 16mm, will this lens hood cause vignetting using the Canon E series 16-50 mm lens and a step up ring?
Asked by: Nathan
In using this with the Fuji XC 15mm-45mm f3.5-5.6 zoom lens on a Fuji X-30T camera, there is vignetting at the wide angle range even when the lens hood is collapsed.
