Cineform Neo v5.5

Cineform Neo v5.5 is a digital intermediate workflow program for real-time online digital mastering of effects-heavy work, broadcast productions, and feature films. With versions for Windows and Mac, the program accommodates virtually all file formats that are supported by professional nonlinear editing programs, and handles YUV, RGB (with or without alpha), and RAW chroma. These formats can be as large as 4K resolution (which generally has 4096 horizontal lines).

Handling formats with 12-bit precision, Neo converts them to the high-quality yet resource-conserving CineForm Intermediate codec in order to make them manageable for online post-production. This allows footage from cameras such as the RED ONE to be edited and manipulated in real time by most popular professional NLE programs, such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe CS3/CS4/CS5, Avid Media Composer v5, and Sony Vegas 7/8/9.

The included HD Link (Windows) and ReMaster (Mac) applications allow batch conversion of virtually all camera and file sources into CineForm files at any spatial resolution. CineForm Intermediate compression is routinely used as the mastering format for both 2D and stereoscopic 3D film projects, and it opens up cross-platform compatibility that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

Neo's included First Light application is a non-destructive primary color correction program that enables 3D adjustments, as well as overlays of text and graphics without flattening them into the underlying video layer. First Light is also used in most of today's stereoscopic workflows for multiplexing left- and right-eye material.
