Not sure why they make these out of plastic vs metal. Out in the field we had one break making the tripod worthless. Ordered and installed the replacement. The first time I opened up the tripod all the way it snapped the replacement. It was very tight to install like the tolerance wasn't right. but also it was a bit brittle like it had been on the shelf in a hot environment too long and the plastic dried out. Very frustrating to spend $22+ and all the time to install just to have it fail immediately.
