The Bosch VIP X1600 4-channel Video Module is a network video server, installed in the VIP X1600 XF base and is used for encoding video and control data for transmission over an IP network. The module supports up to 4 video channels and offers a 2/3 D1 or 2CIF resolution at up to 30 ips.
With MPEG-4 video compression, the video module resourcefully handles bandwidth even while providing high-quality images and can also be adapted to local conditions within wide limits. You can use the dual stream feature to encode the incoming data simultaneously in 2 different, individual customized profiles. This enables you to create 2 data streams, each with a different purpose, for instance 1 for recording and the other for live transmission over the LAN.
You can implement the UDP and IGMP V2 protocols on the network to use the multicast function which allows simultaneous transfer of real-time videos to multiple receivers. Bi-directional serial interface supports data transmission for remote control of external units such as pan or tilt heads for cameras or motorized zoom lenses. To counter tampering of connected cameras, the video module features several options for alarm signaling.
The encoder supports capturing snapshots, which can be stored on the computer's hard drive or displayed in a separate browser window. Offering backup, the device supports storing and redisplaying video images and sequences. The 4-channel Video Module supports HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol), which protects streaming data transmission across the network and protects the control channel via the SSL encryption protocol.
