ClearFile 160100B Overview

Clear File's Archival Plus Negative Page is their best selling negative page. High gloss, highest clarity. Proudly manufactured by Clear File in the USA.

Note:
Fits all standard ring binders and albums
Archival Safe - No PVC
Plastic enclosures manufactured from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are not recommended for archival photographic storage. This plastic, often referred to as "vinyl", is not as stable as some other plastics. It can contain volatile plasticizers acid as it deteriorates.
Rip Resistant Seals
A stitched sealing method that allows each seal to work independently to resist tearing, unlike straight-line that continue to separate completely once the rip begins. In addition, stitched sealing increases the airflow between pockets and therefore further protects against ferrotyping, moisture.
Easy Contact Prints
By placing a loaded file page (negatives must remain emulsion side down) directly on top of the printing paper, it is possible to make sharp contact prints as well as enlargements for testing and proofing purposes.

Width change?

I've been using these pages for a number of years, both with 6x6 and 645 film with no issues until now. I know they are not advertised as fitting 4 frames of 645 per strip but they have served that purpose well for me. However, it looks like they have slimmed down the width of the pages by almost a half inch with the new package I ordered and will no longer fit 4 frames of 645 unless you excessively trim the edges of your film (they barely fit even then). It's too bad because they were nice versatile sleeves for people shooting both formats. Other than this I have no complaints, I prefer them over the Printfile ones.

High quality negative sleeves

I've been using ClearFile's negative sleeves for 5 years now and have no problems with them. Unlike some other brands, these will not rip or stretch. Note that the stock picture shown here is not correct. There actually is a 1/2 margin at the top for writing info on. Permanent sharpie marker works well for this.
