It seems like this would work with a laptop. One output going to a video switcher and the second to a projector. Has anyone tried the Kramer DA in this type of workflow? Thanks!
Yes it would work . HDMI output on laptop to input on Kramer HDMI distribution amplifier input. First HDMI output on Kramer amp. to input of your video switcher ,the second HDMI output on Kramer amp.to input on your projector. The laptop signal is then split 2 ways this kind of distribution amplifier allows the 2 way split with very little signal loss if you have a longer HDMI cable run to your devices,but i would advise do not go over 25 feet from your laptop to the distribution amp. or from the distribution amp to your devices in any HDMI cable run.Even with a amplifier picture quality will degrade. HDMI cable even the most expensive, is not like the old coax cable that could go for a long run and still have a good picture. I hope this helps.

This Kramer claims to boost HDMI signal to increase cable length. To what length? From reviewer comments it seems the cable can additively play a part in boost distance (ie boosted distance + cable capability = total distance).
Absolutely. I would not consider a DA a booster but only a DA. For installation I would install the DA as close to the source as possible, no more than a 6' cable and then no more than 50' cable on each output. It is very important to use use high quality cables with any HDMI installation. If you need to go further consider using a twisted pair Rx/Tx setup for best results.
