The Sachtler Sandwich Touch & Go Adapter with Touch & Go Plate 16 allows retrofitting other heads or equipment with the Touch & Go quick-release system that is compatible with Sachtler's DV12, Video 15, 18, 20, and 25. By adapting other equipment, such as a tripod head, monopod, or crane, to use this QR plate, you don't have to change the plate on the camera when switching between heads. The adapter attaches to heads or other support equipment using available 3/8" screws. The QR system features a safety catch to help prevent accidental release of the plate. The included & Go Plate 16 features one 1/4"-20 and one 3/8"-16 captive camera tie-down screws.

I’ve purchased a Sachtler FSB 8 MK II Fluid Head ...
I’ve purchased a Sachtler FSB 8 MK II Fluid Head with Sideload Mechanism, but would prefer to use some version of the previous Touch-and-Go mounting system of my earlier unit. Is there an adapter that will allow me to do this?
To use the older Touch&Go mounting system of your earlier unit, you can change the platform. You will have to order the Touch&Go platform S2068-1002 and the camera plate 0264.

I'm afraid not. We are not aware of a product like this that will work with FSB10 plates.

Looking for an adapter plate to go from fsb6 to Ronin-M. Will this do the job?
If Sachtler offered an adapter for the Sideload Plate S/Ace Tripod QR Plate, I would say go with that. Since they do not, then you could get two of the Sachtler Sandwich Touch and Go Adapter with Touch & Go Plate 16 and you should be all set.

What are the dimensions, specifically the thickness?
We bought this for a customer, but returned it since it was too heavy and did not fit his gyro. I took notes on the dimensions and the total thickness was around 1 1/8 inches thick. Outer dimensions are 4.89 x 2.963

Does this adapter automatically snap and lock the camera into place when the associated plate is placed onto it? I assume its not a manual lock that you have to swing shut while holding the camera in place.
Yes the locking mechanism works basically the exact same way the one on a sachtler tripod head does. Quick release and sprung lock upon mantling. This adaptor is great for any platform you put a sachtler wedge plate on.
