We all know that companies love to make money with accessories, that's fine, this one streches it a bit too much for my taste. 50$ would already have enough margin.
Pricey but absolutely necessary item.

After renting this plate out with my Sachtler head it was lost and never returned. I was a little shocked about the cost for something rather small. However, when I thought about it more, this part is German engineered, and everything about it is firm and precise. Besides, it's what keeps my camera steadfast to my tripod head. Of course always remind others that use it to always return it; this part could gow legs.

Hi Sorry, I don't know the model # of my sachlter fluid head - it's quite old I think - but the opening for the plate is 1.2 (13cm) wide and 1.7 (16cm) long - do you think this one will this fit?
This plate is meant for specific Sachtler Tripod Heads, the DV-8, DV-8/100 and Video 14/75. However the Bromwell Quick Release plate with screw for Bromwell & Sachtler quick release adapters is 1.2 x 1.7 inches, the same dimensions as your older head, so it should work for you.

The size is 62 x 45 mm, the same as for the FSB touch & go.

Not that we are aware of. This plate is only for select Sachtler tripod heads, the DV-8, DV-8/100 and Video 14/75 Fluid Heads.
