Vello RWII-S overview

  • 1Description

Trigger your camera's shutter wirelessly with the FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release from Vello, a lightweight remote control system that will help you avoid unwanted camera movement. This 2.4 GHz model is compatible with Sony/Minolta cameras and will work both wired and wirelessly up to 320', depending on your own needs and setup. This makes it useful for photographing wildlife or for macro and long exposures where it is necessary to eliminate any chance of camera shake.

The FreeWave system also has access to 16 channels for triggering multiple receivers and has an internal antenna that will be protected from any accidental damage. Multiple features are available for shooting, such as a four-second delay as well as multi-exposure and long exposure modes. The device also has a dual function release, enabling focus on half press and triggering the shutter release on a full press. Additionally, it has LED indicators to confirm pre-focus and exposure while in wireless mode and the receiver and transmitter each run on two AAA batteries.

    Vello RWII-S reviews

FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Sony Alpha is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my expectations! This remote is better than I expected. It gives channels so you can use additional receivers or transmitters with the equipment for whatever purpose you see fit. The only complaint I had was that it clicked in the first time I put it on which it doesn't have a release for. You have to carefully give it a little effort to get it off, but after that it slides on and off very easily while still holding in place well while it's on. I got it for my Sony Alpha A65 because the remote Sony makes for it works with infrared and would require you to be infront of the camera pointing the remote at the sensor and this is the perfect alternative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! This tool is awesome. If you are traveling alone and want to take beautiful self shots or if you're traveling with others, to take group shots, you can do so with this tool. I wondered why I didn't get this sooner. I bought this specially for my trip and wanted to use it to take shots of my hb and I without worrying about imposing on strangers to do so or using the timer function and making sure I reach my spot in time. Needless to say, you can use it for long exposure shots as well. What I especially like is the ability to have the lens focus with a half-press of the button so basically you just need to compose the shot. Definitely seeing myself using this whenever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value Super easy to operate. Excellent results so far. Used it for a series of long exposure nighttime shots over a 2 hour period. Tested from a number of places with obstacles between the remote and the transmitter/receiver - no issues firing. And, it comes with a cable so you can use it wired or wireless. Really happy with this purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product...does what it says Overall very happy with this shutter release. Much better quality than the one I had before. Only complaint is that the remote doesn't have an on/off switch, and therefore can be depressed quite easily while in my bag resulting in a run-down battery. Otherwise would've given it 5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use Very easy to set up and to use. I bought it to use on my Sony a77. It works very well to illiminate camera shake when I am using my 50-500mm lens. Starts up fast when on stand by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product With tripod in place and at a distance ,for wildlife shots. Inside for shots of folks on a stage or at a podium, with set focus and distance,to trigger from tripod on the stage. Outside to trigger concealed slave stobe, and keep camera shake to the minimum. Good construction, and priced right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review for FreeWave Wireless remote. I just used it in my vacation and it is very helpful. That means you don't have to outrun the camera timer when you want to inclued yourself in the picture. I used it in my Sony A-57 and it worked all the time. It's very easy to program and it even looks cool in the camera. The only thing is that the receiver sits low and it does not pivot from the base, so that the onboard flash will not fully open.
