    Griffin Technology NA16029 reviews

PowerMate Assignable USB Multimedia Controller is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great but hard to find the software Its easy to install physically just plug it in and go, but their website is kind of confusing to find the driver software.Which is why i gave it four stars instead of five. Dont remember the specifics because its been about a week now since i initially installed it as i write this review. But so far no problems and im glad to have a volume control its really nice and works well. Was having to use the software volume control and the buttons on my headset which is four seperate volume controls so this makes it a lot easier and was a much needed improvement. In short its a good product if youre thinking about getting one go ahead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from PowerMate: A powerful tool for precision adjustments The Griffin PowerMate is a powerful, infinitely customizable controller that can be customized to perform different functions in each app. It looks stunning next to my MacBook Air, and the blue lighting adds to its modern look. The controller functions accurately, but the software used to program it has many bugs that need to be worked out before I can give this product a five star review. Overall, this is a great device with amazing capabilities that can be applied to any task. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an extra control interface for his/her computer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work Compatibility with software is poor: I bought this for one of my editors and he could not get it to work at all (using PC/Premiere Pro)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Editing Tool! I use my PowerMate to edit both audio and video projects and it has become an indispensable tool in my office! I was looking to purchase a jog wheel but I wanted one that was small, simple to use, and highly customizable. The PowerMate met all of those needs! I don't believe it could be easier to use! There is a small learning curve when you first start programming its functions but I think it's accessible to most computer users. Griffin also has some great documentation on their website that will help you learn how to customize the PowerMate. When I decided to purchase the PowerMate, I found several sites/stores were sold out so there may be a dwindling supply. Get one now from B&H before they're really hard to find! You won't regret it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy I bought this button controller for use in my photo booth. From day one we had issues with it. 1) you have to push it hard or sometimes more then once to get it to register. 2) the power mate software worked great the first time we used it but haven't been able to open the software since the first time we used it. 3) on the third day of use the chrome button fell off completely so now we can't use it at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good hardware, outdated software Works fine for Mac's but does not work on Windows 7, 8, or 10. That sucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesomely simple! Don't be dissuaded by how horrible the packaging is -- once you release this baby from it's prison, it will be your bestest of friends. Download the software the Griffin, it's a quick install. The PowerMate itself has 4 controls: turn left, turn right, press, press and hold. However, these can be paired with modifier keys (shift, option, command, and the PowerMate button itself) for a good handful of options. The software comes with some default controls already set up, which gives you a good idea of all the stuff you can do. You can set the PowerMate to emulate keyboard shortcuts, mouse actions, etc. or enter AppleScript for something a little more complicated. (just google what AppleScript you want.) I've set up my own shortcuts for iTunes, Garageband, Screenflow, Quicktime, etc. I wish I'd had this thing years ago so I could be a master already :) Comes with the device, manual, and USB extension cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Controller I bought this to use when editing in premiere pro and I wasn't sure how it would work, but I thought for $ dollars its worth taking a chance. I've been super happy with it and the software that comes with it makes it so you can pretty much customize it to do anything you want. My only complaint about it would be I wish the software didn't have to run in the bottom dock on Mac but instead ran in the top tool bar. Not really a big deal at all just would be nice if it wasn't sitting there all the time.
