Synology RX410 overview

  • 1Description

The RX410 4-Bay Expansion Unit from Synology delivers an effortless solution for volume expansion and data backup for select Synology RackStations. Compatible with RackStation RS810+ and RS810RP+, the RX410 4-Bay Expansion Unit smoothly scales the storage capacity by an additional four hard drives and connects via eSATA port. It also supports hot-swappable HDD so there's no need to shut the system to switch hard drives.

Volume Expansion
When running out of the hard drive capacity on the Synology RackStation RS810+ or DS810RP+, the Synology RX410 4-Bay Expansion Unit provides 4 extra hard drives. It supports hot-swappable SATA HDD, which means a hard disk drive can be taken out and replaced without shutting the whole system
RAID Management
The RAID volume on the Synology RackStation can be expanded directly without having to reformat the existing hard drives, which ensures the RackStation continues its service during the capacity expansion. When created as a separate volume, the RX410 4-Bay Expansion Unit provides a great solution for backing up the RackStation
Reliable Plug-n-use Design
The RX410 4-Bay Expansion Unit is connected to the RackStation using an eSATA cable with custom-designed connectors on both ends This ensures a reliable connection and maximum throughput. The eSATA 3.0 GB/s definition allows the hard drives in the connected RX410 4-Bay Expansion Unit to operate on the same level as the ones installed in the RackStation
Green & Easy to Manage
The HDD hibernation can be manually configured to take effect automatically when the system has been inactive for a period of time. This not only save energy but also extends the lifespan of the hard disk. The RX410 4-Bay Expansion Unit is managed with Synology DSM 2.3 firmware. No additional firmware installation is needed
