Great delivery
I already knew that the Agfa/Kalt loupe was just the product for my application. It was the service from B&H that impressed me most. I went to their site on Saturday evening to order the loupes for a business trip the next Thursday. Because of their faithful observance of the Sabbath I was unable to order the loupes till Sunday. Sunday too was a Jewish holiday so the store was closed. Despite this I received the package on Wednesday well in time for my Thursday departure and using standard shipping. That means that somebody really had to hustle to get my order out Monday morning. I have never been disappointed with the products I've ordered from B&H and am proud to do business with such a dedicated and knowledgeable firm.

Not like my old Agfa loupe
My original 1970s Agfa Loupe is sharp from corner to corner. This new one is much poorer in quality. Nothing is sharp although it gets close in the centre. It causes real eye strain when looking at contact sheets and is unusable on the ground glass of a camera.

I'm No Expert
One of the features that influenced my purchase decision is ideal for viewing 35mm negatives and slides and Suitable for general 35mm photographic work Yet the only part of the frame is sharp and in focus is around the center. I was hoping it would allow me to see the entire frame magnified. Since this is my first loop perhaps my expectations were too high. There has got to be a better solution than this.

AGFA 8X Loupe for my million slides
I have always had one. In the B&W darkroom other people like them too and I have lost many. I was happy to find B&H still have it so I got two. It is convient to look at negative before printing. I Run a Darkroom with 35 and 4 4X5 enlargers which we make beautful prints that will last 24 generations. It is a Leisure class but we do some great work in the Digital age. Our prints are timeless and priceless.

Simple Loupe for Negatives
I've used these loupes for decades to look at negatives on light tables. They're simple things: they magnify 8 times and let me see if details are good enough in 35mm and 120 negatives to print them. In a pinch, I've used these loupes for ground glass focusing on a view camera.

Great Quality At A Lower Price
I thought I was going to have to buy one of the $40-50 loupes to get good quality but settled for this one because I didn't have the money. I was not disappointed! This loupe is absolutely perfect for figuring out which of your negatives are in focus from your contact sheet!

excellent for viewing 35mm slides
I use the 8x loupe to view an entire 35mm slide on a light table to help select which slides to add to my digital archive. I use it along with the 22x loupe that adds an ability to identify people or read signs, fort example. They make a great pair for my use.

Kalt AGFA 8x Loupe
The Kalt AGFA 8x Loupe that I recently purchased is not the same quality of a AGFA Loupe that bought years ago and manufactured in West Germany. I can get by with new loupe....
