The Internal SuperSwap 1600 SAS/SATA 1-Bay Drive Enclosure from Promise Technology is a 1-bay, internal hot-swappable drive enclosure designed for desktop and tower servers. This drive enclosure supports SAS/SATA data transfer rates of up to 3Gb/s and is also backwards compatible with SATA/SATA II 1.5Gb/s disk drives. In addition to 3.5" disk drives, the 2.5" form factor is also supported. This drive enclosure supports hot-swapping, which gives you the ability to remove hard disk drives without shutting down the entire system. A locking mechanism prevents unauthorized removal of the hard drive.

Flexible Disk Drive Support
This drive enclosure supports SAS/SATA disk drives with data transfer rates of up to 3Gb/s and is also backwards compatible with SATA/SATA II disk drives with data rates of up to 1.5Gb/s. It occupies one 5.25" bay space in a desktop or tower server system. In addition to 3.5" disk drives, this 1-bay drive enclosure also supports 2.5" HDD form factor with an optional accessory kit

Intelligent Enclosure Management
Enclosure management is provided via user friendly web-based utility WebPAM, the same management tool that is packaged with Promise RAID controllers. Important notifications, such as array status, fan speed, temperature and power monitor, are alerted with WebPAM. LED signals for disk status and activity are easy to interpret and allow you to be quickly alerted in case of a disk failure. This drive enclosure is designed to auto-configure the ID number for the I2C enclosure monitoring interface. Lastly, a security key is provided with each drive enclosure to prevent unauthorized removal of the hard disk drive
Superior Enclosure
A cable-less drive carrier is firmly secured to the enclosure housing via a backplane. Ventilation to the drive enclosure is provided via a fan that blows the hot air out of the enclosure. Up to 8 SuperSwap 1600 drive enclosures may be daisy-chained to configure an 8-drive system
