Broadcast Mode
The Pyro 7 features wireless broadcast technology that enables one transmitter to connect to up to four receivers with stable, line-of-sight signals. When Broadcast mode is activated, the transmitter can transmit signals to a maximum of four receivers, and when it's deactivated, the transmitter can transmit signals to up to two receivers and two mobile devices.
Large, Bright Monitor
The Pyro 7 features a 7" display with a brightness of 1200 cd/m², so it's clearly viewable whether you are in bright sunlight or dim environments. The screen brightness is adjustable for optimal performance.
Versatile I/O
The Pyro 7 can be switched to be a transmitter or receiver. When in transmitter mode, the monitor features one HDMI input, one SDI input, one HDMI loop output, and one SDI loop output. When in receiver mode, it features one SDI output, one HDMI output, and one SDI loop output.

Hollyland PYRO 7 and PYRO 5 Kit Reviews

Great Value for the capabilities your getting

After working with a production team that had wireless monitors both for me, the talent and for the company I was filming with I knew I had to go pick up a set. I will be filming in china for a month with large tech companies and so I wanted the functionality and wow factor in my production while i'm there. This kit came well stored in a pelican style hard case (very nice) the monitors are slightly on the plastic end compared to some of my dedicated monitors but still acceptable build. Excellent capability, no difficulty. just turn to the same channel, turn one to the transmitter and the other to the receiver and your in business. I caged the 7" tho you dont need to, there are screw holes on the sides for handles. but the handles included and those holes are "wiggly" I used some nice wooden handles on the cage for a solid hold and great look for a client. It's also really easy to have an iPad wirelessly display the image or any phone in the room, great! Image quality is good, I don't see the use of the included recording to memory card feature for myself. too low res. at this price theres a lot of value here. I wouldnt call it Cinema level, no but fantastic for YouTube, indie, and smaller production teams.

Antenna Is The Worst

The short antennas don't screw on like the longer antennas do. Even though it's going on a threaded mount they don't securely screw on. What does this mean? The minute you go handheld with your camera the antenna is falling out of the monitor. And of course it's black so if you're shooting at night, in a dark room, etc. forget about finding the antenna. This is a major design flaw. Why on Earth R&D wouldn't do the build with a securely screwed in antenna is very annoying and beyond me.

Does this come with SDI cables that would be compatible with the black magic pyxis?
Asked by: Javanni
The Hollyland Pyro 7 & 5 Wireless Transceiver Monitor Kit does not include SDI cables. But you can add 3G-SDI/12G SDI cables that would work in HD only to the kit that would work with the Blackmagic Pyxis cameras but only in HD resolutions.

possible to power it with a v-mount instead of L-series batteries?
Asked by: ivan
Yes, to power the Hollyland Pyro 7 & 5 Wireless Transceiver Monitor Kit with a V-mount battery and not an L-series battery, it will require a dummy L-series battery to D-Tap adapter and a V-mount battery. There is no native way to do this directly.
