Continuing FUJIFILM's series of compact, portable primes, the black XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR is a 24mm-equivalent wide-angle lens, well-suited to landscape, nature, and architectural shooting. Its f/2.8 maximum aperture balances size and speed, and is suitable for working in available lighting conditions while also limiting the overall size and weight of the lens for everyday use. The optical design features two aspherical elements to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides quick and especially quiet focusing performance. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed to suit working in inclement conditions.

FUJIFILM XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR Reviews
Lightweight landscape lens
I purchased this lens to use with my XE-4 to shoot landscapes. I can't say enough good things about it. It's lightweight, compact, sharp, and focuses lightning quick on my camera body. I'm coming from the older Fuji XF 16mm f/1.4 and while the extra two stops of light are missed, the form factor of the lens and ability of the XE-4 to handle high ISO numbers more than makes up for that loss. I plan to use this in conjunction with the newer Fuji 23mm f/2 pancake coming out soon to cover all of my wide-angle needs. I do wish there was a MF/AF slide-back ring like the older Fuji lenses or a switch, but I'm sure I can map one of the buttons on my camera to address this. The build quality and portability of this lens is fantastic. I use it with my Lee neutral density filters and it doesn't worry me in the slightest. The fact that it's weather-sealed offers a degree of confidence as well. The image attached has zero post processing.
Optically Superb
Superb 2.8/24- buy one! I use a 49/52 step-up ring so I can fit my 52mm filters. (All Hoya HD's from B&H). Hood? I use an xc15-45 hood. Perfect match and fit. I'm a happy man!
