The Apochromatic Artar was designed by Walter Zschokke of Goerz in 1904, it became the most widely used process lens for decades. It is a true apochromat and very well corrected for other aberrations as well. Optimim performance is around f/22.
Red Dot Artars in shutters are optimised for medium distance rather than 1:1 and should be just fine at infinity.
