Built using their V-NAND 3-bit MLC flash technology and in-house controller, the Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD offers an M.2 2280 form factor and a PCIe 4.0 x4 / NVMe 2.0 interface to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 7450 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6900 MB/s. Users will also have access to encryption via TCG/Opal 2.0 and MS eDrive, while a TBW (Total Bytes Written) rating of 1200TB helps ensure a long operational life.

The integrated heatsink helps to enhance performance by quickly dissipating heat to provide longer sustained speeds. The 990 PRO SSD and heatsink are designed to fit into desktop and laptop systems that comply with the PCI-SIG D8, 8.8mm standard. It can also fit in the Sony PlayStation 5. The heatsink has RGB LED lights to add style to function.

Maximum Speed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best bang for a buck if you think 9100 is too expensive or not compatible with your system. This ssd has great speed and works flawlessly for heavy programs and games. And with 4tb storage, you can save all of the games that you'll probably only play once or even forget you have on your conputer. I have 2 of this 4tb and one of 980 pro and my PC is running smoothly and the ssd stays cool with all programs and games. Highly recommended.

No, we do not recommend putting SSDs with heatsinks into laptops as they do not fit, and most laptops already have a thermal pad to support the heat of the M.2 drive. I would recommend getting the Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD rather than the Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink.

The Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink, B&H # SAMZV9P2TOCW, will not fit inside the Dell G15 5530. You would need to buy the version without the heatsink which is Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD, B&H # SAMZV9P2TOB.

With the heatsink installed, will it be compatible with QNAP TS-264?

The Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink is too large to fit in the QNAP TS-264; the maximum dimensions that will fit in the M.2 slots in the NAS are 68 x 20 x 10 mm, while the 990 Pro with heatsink measures 80 x 24.3 x 8.2 mm. Keep in mind that the M.2 slots in the TS-264 are limited to PCIe 3.0 x1 speeds, so a heatsink on the SSD is generally not necessary.
