The 300mm focal length has always been popular with professionals and advanced amateurs due to the combination of magnification, portability and close-focusing. 300mm is about the longest lens that can be hand held (in daytime lighting situations). The Tokina 300mm f/5.6 manual focus lens for Nikon AI is a nice compromise in size and speed. Featuring a built-in, telescoping lens hood, this lens is suitable for many outdoor applications.
This lens has a Prong that will meter couple with the older Nikon 35mm manual focus camera such as the Nikon F,F2 and Nikkormat FTN.
