Optical Design
A maximum aperture of f/1.8 offers excellent low-light imaging capabilities along with the ability to create images with a shallow depth of field.
Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when employing selective focus techniques.
One extra-low dispersion glass element is featured in the lens design to help reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color neutrality.
Two aspherical elements are incorporated in the lens design to reduce astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations.
Image Stabilization and Autofocus
Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper imagery when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds. This stabilization system can be combined with select camera's sensor-shift type image stabilization for more effective control of camera blur.
An internal focus mechanism contributes to faster, more responsive autofocus, the minimum focus distance of 11.8", and easier handling as the lens does not change in length during use.

This lens covers all the basics nicely. Lens flare is managed well with the lens hood. With an A6600 body, the lens with the hood on all rests flat on a table. Autofocus is quick and accurate enough. Optics are pretty good when using the lens profile in PhotoShop. I do like the 49mm filter thread. As that is common on a fair number of other APS lenses.
I do find it annoying to not have an AF/MF switch on the body. Particularly for a lens of this price. Other than that, I can't think of any grips. Except..... what you get for the price.
It isn't that I don't like the lens. But if I had to do it over again, I likely would either get a TTArtisan 35/1.8. As I suspect it may have similar lens performance for much less cost. Or get the full frame version of the Sony 35. So that I can get double duty with the same lens on a full frame and A6600 camera. Without having to give up lens speed.

This is a great prime lens with rapid autofocus and OSS for my ZVe10ii camera. I live the creamy bokeh!
