Greater Lighting Control
Sony ADI / P-TTL-compatible, the Ving V480S flash offers support for high-speed sync, 2nd curtain sync, and much more. The flash can be used in manual mode or programmed to fire multiple stroboscopic flashes, and it can also function with high-speed sync for quicker shutter speeds. On top of this, the flash features a guide number of 164' at ISO 100 along with flash durations from 1/600 to 1/20,000 sec, and adjustable output from 1/256 to full power.
Flexible Design
The V480S is useful for both on-camera and off-camera operation. The flash will provide ample illumination for most subjects. It features a convenient auto/manual zoom head with a range of 24-105mm, a white catchlight panel, and a built-in wide-angle diffuser. The head can be tilted from -7 to 120° and rotated 330° to control bounce and where the light falls on the scene.
2.4 GHz X Wireless Radio System
The Godox 2.4 GHz X wireless radio system makes it compatible with Godox's X series transmitters for more advanced functionality and setups. The wireless control of the V480S enables 2.4 GHz wireless flash triggering to extend your shooting possibilities. The flash works with the separately purchased XPro II, X2, and X3 Godox models. With a wireless range of 328', the V480S lets you choose between 32 channels and set up five groups.

Additionally, indicators on the LCD panel inform you of the remaining battery level.
Stable Continuous Shooting
The V480S maintains a stable color output and brightness in high-speed continuous shooting.
LED Modeling Light

Godox Ving V480 Reviews

So far so good

Well, I have only used this for a few test shots in the house. It is functioning as expected so far. Build quality seems solid. The reason for the 4 stars is that updating the flash can be a bit of a Pain. For me to get it to update on a Windows laptop, I had to download the Firmware to the machine and then tell the update app to use the local file and not try to pull using the internet. It would fail every time when the system used the internet. But worked beautifully when I did it via downloading it to my machine first.

Moving up from a TT350

My TT350, which has served me very well, is finally conking out. So it was time to look at a replacement and preferably a bit of an upgrade. I use a Sony A6700, prefer to keep things light & compact and primarily use flash for macro photography. The V480 seemed to be the logical choice for my replacement. It's only slightly larger than my old TT350, thus my AK Diffuser which I use for macro still fits. Sweet! I have mixed feelings regarding the touch screen. It's beneficial in most ways but does slow me down a tad at times. Mainly, adjusting exposure compensation while in TTL mode is a bit more of a burden. Rather than simply rotating the dial with my thumb, I have to remove the camera from my eye, activate that field on the touch screen, then either use the dial or touch screen to make my adjustment. That's the biggest drawback. That said, the screen is large, bright and very responsive. The only other negative that I have is that the build quality is just okay. It still has the somewhat chintzy, hard, brittle feeling plastic. It's solid enough for practical purposes but feels a bit cheap. And, well, it is a pretty cheap flash so I can accept this compromise. Other pluses: the li-ion battery (compared to AAs in the TT350) is excellent. I've been playing around with this extensively for the past couple days and it's still going strong on the initial charge. USB-C charging is of course very welcome vs AAs. The included case is very nicely made. The quick locking mechanism for attaching to the hot shoe is an upgrade to the screw-down type on my old flash More power is great to have even though I'll rarely need it. 650 flashes on a full charge is great but I'm using mine mostly at 1/64 to 1/16 and I don't even know how long it'll last but a LONG time for sure. The recycle rate is very good, no problem keeping up with the long bursts I use for macro work. Oh and the modeling light is SO very helpful for attaining focus in low light macro use. My diffuser has an LED for this purpose but it requires an external power bank to power it. More bulk, weight and yet another device to keep charged. Boo! I was able to do away with all of that now that I have the V480. Excellent! This is leaving me feeling sort of glad that my old flash bit the dust and that I had an excuse to upgrade. Very happy with this new flash!
