SmallRig 2165 Overview

Carry your camera or perform low-angle shots using this Top Handle with ARRI-Style Mount from SmallRig. The handle uses a locking 3/8"-16 thumbscrew with locating pins to attach securely to your camera cage.

This versatile handle sports one locking and two standard cold shoe mounts, as well as multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 ARRI-style anti-twist threads. The handle is constructed with durable aluminum and stainless steel components.

Very solid top handle. The anti-twist lock works as it should. Plenty of mounting points, some with additional anti-twist locks. I usually prefer a nato clamp or double threaded screws for top handles but this works well for smaller cage builds and mirrorless camera cages.

Locating pins don’t fit the Pyxis

The Arri locating pins are quite a bit longer than the depth of the locating holes on the top of the Blackmagic PYXIS. Therefore the pins don’t work with this camera. It seems like more of a Blackmagic issue than a Smallrig issue but if I take the locating pins off and just use the screw the whole top handle spins even when it’s very tight. Other than that it seems like a well built product.

Yes, the SmallRig Top Handle with ARRI-Style Anti-Twist Mount BH #SM2165C will work with their Cage Kit for Sony ZV-E1. Smallrig also recommends the handle below for the cage kit. SmallRig Top Handle with ARRI-Style Anti-Twist Mount (Lite) BH #SM3765

SmallRig Top Handle has an Arri-style anti-twist mount. Unfortunately it is not compatible with Tilta Full Camera Cage for Canon C70 because tilta has a proprietary 1/4"-20 Anti-Twist Camera Mount on the cold shoe. You need a handle that slide on the cage cold shoe and screw on to the threads.

NO, it does not work with the Nikon Z6. It absolutely does not fit, and I"m not sure why anyone would say it does.
