Class D destroyer!

I reconfigured my bi-amped, system getting rid of a class AB amp that ran hot as a space heater, and moved my very nice audiophile amp to my mains where it belongs. Then I put this amp in for subwoofer duty. While I'm not a true believer of Class D to replace AB, or A ultimately, I figured it would be less of an issue when wired just for subs. Well, this monster drives my subs so the notes pound you in the chest, but never breaks a sweat, even though it's the least powerful of the XLS DriveCore series. I find nothing whatsoever wrong with the character of the bass. And drawing less AC power and running cooler as well, it's a total win.

Compact and light weight / fits in a shallow rack!

Can I use 2 of these for my Atmos speakers 4 speakers?
Asked by: dennis
So long as your Atmos speakers were spec'd for a program power rating of 200 watts at 8 ohms per speaker, then yes this amp could work. To maintain 4 channel separation, you would want to run 2 amps for 4 speakers.

Does it do summing in bridge mode to thru both channels from satellite unit to subwoofer unit?
Asked by: Lars
No. When using the Crown Audio XLS 1002 Stereo Power Amplifier in bridge mode, the power of both amp channels is summed into a single channel, so only one output is available.

question

I saw in pics that it's has some kind of selector For 220v, it's multivoltage?thanks!
Asked by: Hernan
Unfortunately, the Crown Audio XLS 1002 does not feature a worldwide power supply. They come factory set to work in the region in which they have been sold to; in our case, North America. The marking in the back with the various voltage selections are just an indicator of the options available through crown, but are most definitely marked by region.
