ASUS PA279CV Overview

Bring your professional projects to life with the 27" ASUS ProArt PA279CV 4K HDR Monitor. Designed to deliver exceptional color, this Calman verified 3840 x 2160 resolution 4K display is factory calibrated for Delta E <2 accuracy, covering 100% of the sRGB gamut. You can quickly switch to other gamut presets such as DCI-P3 and Rec. 709 to fit with your photo, video editing, and color grading needs. High-dynamic range support provides images with bright highlights and deep shadows. Built in Adaptive-Sync technology helps to reduce screen tearing and stuttering from fast action videos with compatible graphics cards.

You can connect this monitor to your system using the DisplayPort and HDMI ports or use the USB-C connector to transfer video, data, audio, and up to 65W of power over a single cable with compatible laptops. There is also a built-in 4-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub that includes three USB-A ports and one USB-C port, allowing you to charge your devices and connect 5 Gb/s compatible peripherals to your system through the monitor.

Exceptional Color
Designed for creative professionals, the ProArt Display PA279CV is factory calibrated and Calman-verified for a color accuracy average of Delta E <2. Additionally, it's 27" In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel supports a crisp 3840 x 2160 4K resolution, providing 1.07 billion colors that cover 100% of the sRGB gamut. Other features include high-dynamic range support, a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 350 nits peak brightness, and 5 ms (GtG) response time.
Quick Color Gamut Adjustments
Use the integrated ProArt Presets to switch between multiple color settings that include sRGB, Rec.709, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3, and DICOM modes. The PA279CV is compliant with the DICOM Part 14 standard to ensure smooth gradations and accurate identification of grayscale shading.
Versatile Connectivity
The ASUS ProArt Display includes two HDMI 2.0 ports alongside a DisplayPort 1.2 input. You can also transfer video, data, and up to 65W of power over a single cable using the main USB-C port. Four USB-A Gen 1 ports allow you to quickly connect mice, keyboards, 5 Gb/s flash drives, and other peripherals through the monitor. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also available for listening privacy.

QuickFit Virtual Scale
The ASUS QuickFit Virtual Scale feature overlays a grid onto your projects, allowing you to preview and align content in their actual size before printing.

ASUS Ultra-Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technologies help to reduce eyestrain for comfortable viewing over extended periods of time.
Ergonomics
Rotate the screen 90° in either direction to view content in portrait mode and adjust the height, tilt, and swivel to match your preferences. The 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles allow you to see the screen clearly from almost any position. Additionally, the stand's quick release makes it easy to remove the display so that you can mount it to a wall or swivel arm using the 100 x 100mm VESA pattern.

Will potentially edit or delete this once the replacement unit comes in, but opening a brand new monitor only to find that it’s faulty is pretty disappointing. Looked it up and apparently others have received bad units as well. Hoping the next one comes in actually working, but writing this to warn others as well.

Hi. A lot of people say that 27" isn't 4K or isn't ideal for 4K. They say that the ideal size is 2K. Is that true?

If you are using a Mac, then 1440p and 5K are typically seen as the ideal resolutions for a 27" monitor due to how macOS handles text scaling. However, a 4K monitor, like the ASUS ProArt Display PA279CV 27" 4K HDR Monitor (B&H # ASPA279CV), would still give you more resolution and detail than a 1440p monitor.
