SmallRig 2203 Overview

The dedicated Full Cage for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K/4K from SmallRig is a protective frame that enables you to mount accessories onto your Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K or 4K. One shoe mount, several NATO rails, and multiple 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16, and ARRI-style accessory threads are built into the cage's top and sides.

Access to the camera's controls, compartments, and connectors is maintained when the cage is fitted to the camera. The versatile cage incorporates locating pins and rubber pads for a snug fit on your BMPCC 6K or 4K camera. It also features strap holes to add a hand strap or neck strap. An Allen wrench that stores in the base is included to help tighten the camera screw.

I don't love the NATO rail mount for a top handle. When I try to tighten my top handle onto the rig, the screw twist handle is interfered by my camera body. So I'm forced to pull the tightening handle off the screw, and then adjust it to have space to twist slightly again. It's just kind of annoying- not a huge problem, but just something that does occur frequently.

SmallRig is at the point where their only competition is Tilta, and they've cornered the price market. My second one of these for BMPCC 4ks!

What is the difference between this and the previous cage (BH #SM2203 • MFR #2203)?

The differences between the previous cage SM2203 and the new cage SM2203B are added 1/4" 20 screw holes on the left side of the cage, some additional accessory mounting holes on the top of the left side, and an improved camera strap latch.

I saw your customer image of the 6K mounted to the cage and mounted to a gimbal. I just bought Blackmagick 6K and I need to get a gimbal that can support the width of the 6K & Cage. Please let me know what brand and model gimbal that is and I'll be able to buy the cage also? Thanks!

I can confirm it DOES have NATO rails now that I got the 2203B with HTN2362 Rotating NATO Clamp Handle attached without any additional hardware.
