You simply need to connect a FastStream SC 8250 between your workstations or server and JBOD storage to instantly create a RAID protected storage area network without the complexity of traditional Fibre Channel SAN solutions.

The FastStream SC 8250 is an economical solution that delivers data protection for applications in DVA and IT infrastructures including high-definition video post-production, color grading, digital prepress, disk-to-disk backup, audio post, email compliance, data warehousing, data mining and transaction based environments.

The FastStream SC 8250's switchable dual flash ROM images increases reliability when upgrading firmware. It supports 4KB sector size for volumes more than 2TB. It also has ability to import drives created on other FastStream or ExpressSAS RAID products.

The FastStream SC 8250 allows you to connect directly to 4 workstations or servers with ATTO ExpressSAS HBA's or create shared storage using SAS connections already on your workstation eliminating the need to occupy valuable PCIe slots.

By using onboard SAS connections to network storage, upto 16 workstations can share up to 256 TB of storage. Installing the FastStream is easy. Simply bring out the SAS connection to a back-plate on the workstation where it is connected via a SAS cable to the FastStream SC 8250. Multiple workstations are then connected and have shared access to external storage without the need for a Fibre Channel switch.
