The DD3 Dual Axis Controller from Vixen Optics was created to be used with two optional Vixen MT-1 motor drives. These are compatible with the current Vixen GP Mounts, Great Polaris, Great Polaris D2, and Great Polaris Economy German Equatorial Mounts and on any telescopes using these mounts. The dual-axis controller/drive corrector is also compatible with the Vixen's MT-1 on older Super Polaris and Super Polaris DX mounts and scopes.

The accuracy of the MT-1 motor drive is brought within +/0.005% of the sidereal rate when it is controlled by the DD3. Eight user supplied D batteries provide a run time of approximately 20 hours. The DD3 Dual Axis Controller provides astrophotography guiding with 32x sidereal for general movement and 2x sidereal north, south, west and shutoff east for keeping the camera on target.
